Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 October 2026

1. Who we are

Scorium (“the operator”, “we”) runs the Scorium website and apps at https://scorium.app. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use them.

For anything about your data, write to [email protected].

2. What Scorium does

Scorium helps a club organiser run padel, tennis and pickleball tournaments (Americano, Mexicano and other formats): courts, sit-outs, rounds, scoring, a timer with an alarm, a results card and, if you want, a live room so other people can follow the tournament on a phone or a TV.

  • No accounts: no sign-up, password or email login.
  • No payments: no cards and no in-app purchases.
  • No advertising: no ad networks and no third-party trackers.

Player names can be personal data, which is why this policy spells out where they end up.

4. What stays on your device

Most of what you type never leaves your device. It is saved in your browser or app storage:

  • Tournaments, results and history, the players you add (name, gender and level) and your presets.
  • Your settings: language, theme, club name and logo, sound and voice preferences.
  • Player photos, if you add them. A photo you pick is shrunk and saved on your device only: it is not uploaded anywhere and it is not part of backups, share links or live rooms. Your browser or phone may ask permission to use the camera or your photos; it is up to you to give it or not.

Voice announcements use the speech voice your device already has: Scorium does not use the microphone, and no audio is recorded or sent. The screen may be kept awake while a tournament is running. In the app, the timer alarm can use a local notification if you allow it. None of this sends data to us.

This data stays until you delete it, clear the site data in your browser or remove the app. We cannot see it or delete it for you.

5. Live rooms and share links

A live room is optional. When an organiser turns one on, the tournament is copied to our server so other people can follow it with a code or a QR.

  • What is stored: the room code, the tournament name, player or pair names, scores, standings, round and timer state, court names and, in full tournaments, the club name. Photos, logos and contact details are not included.
  • Who can see it: anyone who has the room code or link. Only the organiser’s device can change it, using a secret key created on that device. Give the code only to people you want to see the results.
  • How long: a room is removed automatically about 7 days after its last update (the cleanup runs whenever a room is published). If you want one removed sooner, send us the room code at [email protected].

A watch link (/watch#…) carries a copy of the results, with the names, inside the link itself. Nothing is stored on our server for it and whoever receives it can read it, so share it with care.

If you add other people’s names to a live room, make sure they are fine with it.

6. Analytics and performance

On the hosted site we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a service from Cloudflare, our host. It uses no cookies and no local storage, and it is not used for advertising or to follow you across other sites.

It counts visits and measures speed (Core Web Vitals): the page path, the referrer, country, browser and system, device type and the speed metrics themselves. It is not used to follow a visit across pages or to identify you.

7. Cookies

Scorium sets a single first-party functional cookie, scorium-locale, that stores the language you picked so the server can show pages in it. It lasts one year, carries no identifier and is not used for tracking.

Everything else (theme, tournaments, club settings) lives in your device’s storage, which is not sent to us.

8. Why we use data, and on what basis

  • Legitimate interests: running the app and live rooms, keeping them secure and fair to use (for example limiting abuse by counting requests per IP address in server memory, not in the room data) and understanding basic traffic and speed so we can improve Scorium.
  • Consent: when your browser or phone asks for permission (camera or photos for player photos, notifications for the timer alarm). You can withdraw it at any time in your device settings.

Data that stays only on your device is not processed by us.

9. Who we share data with

We do not sell data and we do not work with advertising networks. To run Scorium we use two providers:

  • Cloudflare: hosting of the site (Cloudflare Workers), analytics and speed measurements.
  • Neon: the database for live rooms.

Like any host, they handle technical request data, such as IP addresses, to serve the site. Our providers may process data in countries outside your own, including outside the EEA and the UK. Where that happens, they rely on safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

10. How long we keep data

  • On your device: until you delete it.
  • Live rooms: about 7 days after the last update.
  • Language cookie: one year, renewed whenever you change the language.
  • Analytics and speed data: kept by Cloudflare under its own retention rules.

11. Children

Scorium is aimed at adult club organisers and players. It is not directed at children.

12. Your rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may access, correct, erase or restrict your data, object to its use, ask for portability and withdraw your consent. Write to [email protected].

What is on your device you manage yourself. To find something in a live room we need its room code, because we cannot tell whose a name is. If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

13. Automated decisions

Pairing and sit-out logic only organises a club tournament. It makes no decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on anyone.

14. Changes

If the way we handle data changes, we will update this page at https://scorium.app/privacy and the date above.
